The three-phased Big Little RJ Hunt, an initiative of Chennai’s No. 1 melody station 92.7 BIG FM, turned out to be a resounding success and culminated with the top 3 young Radio Jockeys chosen on Wednesday following an exciting final round at the Express Avenue Mall in the presence of a heady celebrity line-up that included actors Dhanush and Shruthi Hassan of the movie ‘3’ fame. Organized as part of 92.7 BIG FM’s Children’s Day celebrations, the hunt for the best three little RJs was flagged off by actor Vijay of “Velayudham” fame on November 7. The winning trio will get an opportunity to host BIG FMs shows with experienced BIG FM RJs on air. 92.7 BIG FM RJs auditioned children on various parameters to suit the role of the BIG Little RJ at different points across the city and short-listed 20 of them for phase two of the search, held at the Express Avenue Mall on November 14, where the best five were selected for the final round after performing in front of a live audience. On Wednesday, the five finalists were judged by BIG FM RJs and a line-up of celebrities that included Dhanush, Shruthi Hassan, director Aishwaraya Dhanush and music director Anirudh on the sidelines of the audio launch of the movie ‘3’. Commenting on the BIG Little RJs’ performances, Sindhu Vijayakumar, Radio Operations Head, 92.7 BIG FM said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to unearth and nurture children with a penchant for Radio Jockeying. For Children’s Day we at 92.7 BIG FM wanted children to enjoy themselves, and we felt providing them an opportunity to RJ would be an exciting way.”
