Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation with the support of Govt. of Tamil Nadu, SIFCC, FFI & Film Fraternity will organize 8th Chennai International Film Festivalon December 15 to December 23,2010. Over 130 films from 43 countries will be screened at Woodlands Theatre,Woodlands Symphony,South Indian Film Chamber Theatre,INOX Theatre.There will be 5 shows at Woodlands Theatre,Woodlands Symphony,South Indian Film Chamber and 4 shows will be there at Inox.
Minister for information and broadcasting Parithi Ilamvazhuthi will inaugurate CIFF on 15th December at 6.15 PM at Woodlands Theater. There will be a spectacular cultural show “History of Tamil Cinema” will be performed by Venky at the inaugural function.While closing ceremony will be held at 6.15PM at the same venue on 23rd December .
There will be a Red Carpet Screening at 8.00 p.m. all 7days from 16th to 22nd December at Inox Screen 3 for Sponsors, VIPs and Invited Guests.
There will be open forum on Video Piracy on 19th December and Impact of south African films on Tamil films the date will be announced for the 2nd topic.
There will be regular press meets . And interaction with the Invited Film Directors, Producers of films by Press and Delegates.
From this time onwards an unique award will be presented to the winners of the different competitions announced. This unique memento has been designed by the famous sculpture Nandha Gopal.
Rajiv Menon Mind screen students will capture the various expressions and moments of participants of CIFF like directors,producers,hosts and most importantly the delegates during the film festival. A 10 min album containing these images will be released on the closing day of the CIFF. This would be a visual diary of 8th CIFF.
Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation Thangaraj, Actresses Kushboo,Suhashini, Lisy, Rohini,Revathy,Poornima, Aparna and actors Mohan,Manobala ,S.V.Sekhar are working hard to make CIFF as a memorable one for long long time.
